Frozen Windy City

Now that we're starting to have 40's day-time temps, I'd like to take a look back and present these photos taken at a time when Lake Michigan was still a frozen lump and temperatures were still sub-freezing...

Oh, who am I kidding? St. Patrick's Day has come and gone, the official day for spring was a week ago, Punxsutawney Phil called for an early spring... I want the warmer weather now!

Neighborhoods of the World - Philippines at Navy Pier

Now this is something I am very, very familiar with: the Neighborhoods of the World featured Philippines! Lot's of singing, lots of dance performances, Filipino food!

Traditional Filipino clothes were on display during the event.

The wife even bought a jacket which prominently displayed the Sun and Stars!

There were singing, dancing and Filipino stuff for sale.

And what is a Filipino festival without the singkil (a Filipino traditional dance with the bamboo poles)?

It was nice to see a lot of Filipinos gathered in one place. It sure brings back feelings of Home. And the wife and I had a really enjoyable time. :)
